Blenheim Palace is set to transform into a world of wonder this October half term, with a line-up of family-friendly activities guaranteed to keep little spooky souls entertained.
From 25th October to 2nd November, visitors to the UNESCO World Heritage Site can enjoy a jam-packed programme of spooky fun, including animal encounters, storytelling, crafts, and circus workshops within the Walled Garden and Adventure Play.
The UK’s number one ethical animal encounter company, ZooLab, will be entertaining young audiences with their interactive Potions Show inside The Rowse Honey Hive. Children will get the chance to handle real animals such as frogs, snakes, and spiders, whilst helping the ZooLab team conjure up a potion, learning fascinating facts along the way.
Families can then find out more about the autumnal vegetables that are growing in the kitchen garden, as well as the animals that feature in Zoolab’s Potions Show.
Along the way, families may spot Bumblemore, a stilt-walking wizard, roaming the Palace grounds to greet families and pose for photos. There will be a circus show full of all kinds of tricks and treats, with circus workshops available to children to learn their own tricks.
In Adventure Play, children can enjoy Pip and Posy storytelling sessions and get crafty with a make-a-mask workshop to create their own mask to wear. Children can also follow the Pip and Posy Rainbow Treasure Hunt, inspired by an episode from Pip and Posy Magic Light Pictures’ hugely popular pre-school series which airs on Sky Kids and Channel 5’s Milkshake!
Families can hop aboard Winston, the adorable mini train, for their trip to the Walled Garden and stop for food at The Walled Garden Pizzeria.
Within the Walled Garden, families can race against time to conquer the mighty Marlborough Maze in just 10 minutes, or step inside the Butterfly House which features an updated entrance lobby, and more feeding stations throughout to increase the chances to see up close its colourful inhabitants.
Haunted Half Term activities are included with a valid Palace, Park & Gardens ticket, Annual Pass or Privilege Pass. For access to Adventure Play, families will need a Palace and Play Pass, which grants access to both Blenheim Palace and Adventure Play for a full year, making it fantastic value for regular visitors. A Palace and Play Pass is available at £165 for a family of four (two adults and two children) and at £51 per adult and £41 per child for individual day passes.
