Could You Take On This Iconic Skyscraper? The Walkie Talkie Tower Climb Is Back!

This is a sponsored article on behalf of Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.

36 floors. 896 stairs. One pulse-raising, sweat-making, incredible cause-supporting challenge.

That’s the Walkie Talkie Tower Climb in a nutshell. This annual fundraiser for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity) sees participants run, jog, and walk their way to the top of one of London’s most recognisable buildings — where they’ll be rewarded with stunning views, a celebratory drink and the satisfaction of knowing they’ve stepped up for seriously ill kids and their families.

The Walkie Talkie Tower Climb 2026 — GOSH Charity’s 10th annual tower climb —  takes place on Saturday 28 March at 20 Fenchurch Street. Otherwise known as the Walkie Talkie due to its distinctive proportions, this City skyscraper is home to London’s highest public garden. The Sky Garden is where you’ll complete your ascent, and trust us when we say that finish lines don’t get more spectacular than this: think lush greenery and jaw-dropping 360 degree views.

But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. The first step is to sign up. The Walkie Talkie Tower Climb is open to those aged 16 and up, but if you’re under 18, you’ll need a parent or guardian taking part in the event to register for you. Choose your start time (these are staggered between 8am and 12pm, so no worries if you’re not an early morning person), pay your £30 registration fee (this helps cover event costs and includes a Walkie Talkie Tower Climb t-shirt, timing chip, medal and celebratory drink), and make your fundraising pledge.

All climbers are asked to try and raise over £250 for GOSH Charity. Every penny will go towards building a new, world-leading, child-focused Children’s Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). This will be a new home for breakthrough treatments, one which not only enables GOSH to save more young lives but also helps to give patients the best chance and the best childhood possible. Here, access to play, education and outdoor space will be a priority alongside pioneering care. Good causes don’t get more worthy than this.
